Leverage your awareness to serve your life’s purpose.

How did the “Scanning” technique work for you in our LAST ARTICLE?

Familiarizing yourself with these different stylings of meditation will support you while you work with your specific intentions and spiritual goals.

In time, you may even find a completely original style that fits perfectly for you and your situation.

And that’s the beauty of meditation, isn’t it?

To develop and grow a personal space that we can go to for insight, healing, strengthening, and manifestation.

Whatever you’re working toward now in your life, the journey from “here to there” will be easier, more exciting, and more rewarding if you can couple it with a meditation practice. Buttressing your goals and dreams with meditation will also help to ensure that your cause and efforts are aligned with your life’s purpose.

What could possibly be worse than winning the race, only to discover you’re not interested in the prize?

In this article, we’re going to share two more stylings of meditation. Remember, these stylings are different avenues to the same inner and total intelligence. Use what works for you and shelve the ones that don’t.

But don’t forget about them. Styles that don’t gel today, might be the perfect tool in the future.

Your Chakras

In the LAST ARTICLE, we employed the Scanning technique.

The process to working with your Chakras is similar.

Your Chakras are energy centers spaced evenly along your spine from base to crown. For more information on Chakras visit “Meet Your Chakras.

When working with your Chakras, use the Scanning technique and pause in these energy centers.

It goes just like this…

  1. Prepare your space and body for the meditative experience. If you need a refresher, visit PART 2.
  2. Move your attention to the base of your spine. Keep your attention here.
  3. Use your inhalation to move up “one rung” on the ladder to the 2nd Chakra (lower abdomen region). Pause here.
  4. Continue up the Chakra System to the solar plexus, heart, throat, brow, and crown.
  5. When you arrive at the crown, you may finish your meditation here, or travel back down the first Chakra. Both finishing points will have slightly different effects.

So what am I doing in these energy centers? What do you mean “pause”?

Great question. You’re not doing much. In fact,  you’re “doing” as little as possible.

If you remember from our FIRST ARTICLE in this series, the mediation experience rests on your ability to observe. “Pausing” in the energy center is akin to “listening”.

When you give your attention to these different flavors of energy, they will in turn give different flavors of energy to you.

This is where all the magic happens. Sometimes it’s fireworks, other times it’s baby smiling.

Never expect one or the other, it is the poison to your practice. Just pause, observe, and move on.

Prana, Nadis, and Vayus

Another styling of meditation is to give your attention to Prana, Nadis, and Vayus.

  • Prana= life energy units
  • Nadis= channels for Prana
  • Vayus= currents

For more information on how to work with these elements, visit “How to Excite Your Portable Energy System“.

These are the pillars of your subtle energy system and you will definitely become best friends with these guys as you grow your practice.

In the meantime, just know that these elements are present. If you happen to run into one another while meditating, make sure to introduce yourself and say “hello”.

Next Time

In our next article, we will be exploring perhaps the most valuable and also maybe the most misunderstood styling of meditation- manifestation. Stay tuned- it’s a doozy.

In Conclusion

As you develop your personal meditation practice, you will find what works best for you.

It’s worth the time. It’s worth the effort.

As you build momentum, experiment with these and other stylings so that you may access higher self and realize your potential.
